GGD's Next Stylist: Challenge I: Judging

So I've been thinking about this for a few days. I use a website that probably quite a few of you are familiar with:
    http://www.polyvore.com

I was thinking we could do a competition called GaGa Daily's Next Stylist. An outfit would be centered around a gaga theme. That is a song of hers, or an item from one of her outfits, and we would have to style it in our own way. Then of course the person with the best outfit wins. I have to admit I don't know how most of these competitions go, but I watch Project Runway and all those type of competition shows religiously so it would be like that.

    Judges:

    • bruised (Heidi)

    • Haus (Nina)

    • mjmonstergg (Special Guest Judge GaGa)

    • wunderful (Michael Kors)

    Stylists
    1. LovNArt
I used the shoes as representation of the fear of truth/honesty. To show that no matter how want to cover up and hid your fear of the truth (The black), the truth is always there and sometimes bold enough to where you can't deny it.(The red).
    2. australiagaga
The outfit with the closed coat is black and dark representing fear and a person who withholds everything and keeps their honesty and truth on the inside. If the coat were to be open the truth and honesty would be exposed (the cream and peach coloured lingerie)
    3. Upgrade9988
My peace represents the secrets and how secretly can be any percon. The mistery is one of the biggest opposite things about Truth and the secrets cna be recodnized even by clothes. Thats what my peace represents.
    4. 321Ben
The leather coat, I guess you could say it's a barrier, hiding what's truely underneath, a whole different person, opposite to what people see them as. The patchwork leggings show that they're giving off different identities, personalities, thoughts, etc. to cover up what they really think. Take Away bag is again, masking true identity. The red sole of the shoe represents that a little truth will always be showing, no matter how hard you try to hide it. The sunglasses are a way of hiding true emotions.
    5. chickenhound
Concept: This is a collection that explores the darker side to every truth. The eerie fashion allows the collection to elude the essence of lies. Every truth takes confront in a divine lie. This collection allows a sinful nature to evolve and create a fashion macabre which will devour any willing participant, who obliges to accept this false reality of eternal vanity.
    6. Dan
Each item in this outfit reflects a certain aspect of the 'Fear of Truth' monster. The leotard's variation between opaque and translucent material reflects the difficulty in hiding the truth. The addition of the cape over the leotard, and bare legs mirrors this concept. While we believe we may have 'covered up' something, there are 'gaps'/'holes' and the truth will inevitably be revealed. By 'shielding' the wearer from the outside, the hat is reminiscent of the quote we all know and love; "I prefer a dose of bullshit over the truth any day". With its apt name 'Kiss of Death', it also shows us how the truth coming from someone's mouth can be hurtful and for the worse. The studded heels continue this notion of forming a barrier against truth. Furthermore, sometimes we can only protect ourselves by hurting others (with the studs-'truth').

Of course we cannot forget that the truth is sexy; I hope you enjoy this sexy outfit!
    7. j'veux
I chose the white dress - to be worn under the cape - to represent truth, that is hidden by the darker layers of the rest of the outfit. Since the dark sunglasses and lipstick cover up two distinctive parts of a person (eyes and lips), they were used to represent fear of honesty. And I used the chain necklace to represent the weight of these particular fears.
    8. Electronica
The lace veil, stockings, and shoes with holes in them all represent the truth being partially hidden, but that there are always parts that will be visible for everyone to see, no matter how hard you try and hide it. Then the vampire fangs and text are self explanitory, "show me your teeth"="tell me the truth"
    9. TheOneR
The outfit represents the strong (the heel-less shoes) and sensitive woman at the same time, its fear of honestly, to keep things inside like gloves that keep actions to ourselves, the fear of being vulnerable is taken away with he sunglasses that cover us from others.
    10. Simaltaria
My concept for this look is the idea of the cape covering the Truth while the bag exposes everything inside it (which can be considered as Honesty). The Gareth Pugh hat is about hiding yourself away from the Truth. The shoes and pants are chosen because I thought they make a cool outfit, the ring is inspired by the shape of Teeth. I hope you like it!

I was going for the *covering up/hiding* feel.

    Rules:
    1. This is unbending: No negative critcism, only constructive.
    2. Item provided must be used in your fashion set.
    3. You can't copy someone else's idea or use a set you've previously made. It defeats the purpose of this competition.
    4. Winner for each round will get immunity, but they still must produce work for the next round.
    5. Refrain from recreating GaGa outfits. This is about creativity. Recreating GaGa outfits doesn't show us anything about your fashion style.
    6. No passes.

You will be given 3 days to complete your outfits, Judges will be given 1 week to turn in their evaluations.

You *must* be a member of Polyvore to be able to create outfits, then post them on here. It's very easy to join. Judges do not need Polyvore accounts.

No more Stylists are permitted. There is a CAP at 15 Stylists.

Not one single person interested in this? It helps to be a polyvore member already. I want to try to involve fashion more into the community.

Glad I was first to ask.

I meant four judges myself included, I'm sorry if I confused anyone, but I tend to be a pushover on equality type of things though so I'm going to let VampireBitch be one, but he's the last judge to be let in. No more judges.

Now for people to particpate. Judges you can PM me with any idea you have for a first competition. I will also PM you, but considering, I'll have last say on the idea. It has to be moderately simple of course.

Anyone interested in entering, say so now!

Hmm maybe I'll go look into polyvore. I have tried to use it once before but it seemed too fancy for my computer skills.

And besides the fact that I studied interior design in school, Stylist is my dream job! I would have loved to be in this competition.

I'll come back here if I can somehow reign my polyvore skills in the next few days and figure it out.

It's pretty user friendly once you get used to it. Also you can clip pictures in from tumblr. If you have a tumblr account you can upload your own pics into tumbler and clip them into polyvore.

Are you going to give us a certain theme or is it just supposed to be gaga-like?
